Welcome
Welcome to the Birmingham Association of School Business Management Website.
The Birmingham Association of School Business Management was formed in 1999, as the Birmingham Bursars' Group, to represent the views of Bursars, Business Managers and other Support Staff in schools within the Birmingham area. The name was changed towards the end of 2015 to reflect national trends and the evolving and widespread roles undertaken by the ever growing membership.
BASBM hold a conference at least twice a year offering our members the opportunity to:
- Hear from leading speakers, and representatives from both local and national educational establishments.
- Assist their development in line with the ‘ISBL Professional Standards’ framework.
- Network with colleagues from across the region.
- Meet with specialist educational suppliers.
Our website provides a very effective platform for our members to extend their support for each other between meetings and access termly free webinars. Members enjoy access to discussion forums where they can seek advice, share information and access important bulletins, a calendar of events, useful documents, training videos, Jobs in Schools posts, ESFA guidance and DfE benchmarking. They also have access to SBM Toolkit, FundEd and ISBL membership for free to support their role.
The group has close links with other educational groups and bodies including the Education Funding Agency (EFA), Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL), Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) and other regional groups. New members will be welcomed by the committee and supported by fellow members.
In addition all members can use the http://www.jobsinschools.org website to advertise teaching or support staff vacancies free of charge.
